Alexandra Ripley, was a writer of historical fiction who was best known for ''Scarlett,'' the officially sanctioned sequel to ''Gone With the Wind."

Charles Schulz conceived this strip in 1988 and SCARLETT the sequel to GONE WITH THE WIND was released in 1991. This is one of the few strips that are considered to be prescient, and could have had some effluence on the Mitchell Estate finally allowing a sequel to be made.
